#RhodeScholar Michelle gets busy!

Two signs of how busy I’ve been the past 11 days -  1. I haven’t blogged once. 2. I’m just now sitting down to watch the women’s Olympic marathon, which was run last weekend.

#RhodeScholar Brittany thinks about last minute racing

I’ve been debating for a while of running a half marathon this month to help in my Newport Marathon training. I had to miss the Jamestown stop of the UHC Triple Crown (of course, the one I was looking forward to the most!) and I’m trying to get my competitive running juices flowing.  I know, I don’t really have competitive juices. A girl can dream.

#RhodeScholar Michelle recaps Jamestown!

I’ve heard a lot of people say that the races that they’re most relaxed about end up being the best races they’ve ever had, but I had never had that experience - until yesterday’s inaugural Jamestown half-marathon.

#RhodeScholar Mallory recaps a long weekend

What a weekend! This has been a busy and fun-filled weekend for me. First of all, I finished my first week at my new job, so after a very overwhelming week, I was ready for some fun. It’s already official — I LOVE not working the overnight shift on Friday nights anymore.

#RhodeScholar Brittany begins Newport countdown!

It’s been a really busy two weeks. There was the prep for the Jamestown Half Marathon, which was all well and good until I woke up race morning at 3am with some not so nice indicators that I had a lovely bout of food poisoning.

#RhodeScholar Michelle is ready for Jamestown!

It’s really difficult to find time to blog during the summer when all three kids are with me all day long, and so many of our evenings are filled up with fun summer activities. My alone time these days is pretty much limited to my workouts - thankfully I still have time for those!

#RhodeScholar Mallory explores Cross Fit!

On Tuesday, Wendy and I attended our first Cross Fit session!  It was certainly an experience!  When we got to the “box,” staff was friendly and asked us questions about our current fitness level.  The staff was knowledgable and engaging.

#RhodeScholar Michelle hits a few bumps!

It’s a good thing I didn’t have any lofty goals in mind for the upcoming Jamestown half, because the road leading up to it has been a series of speed bumps.
