#RhodeScholar Mallory contemplates pace
I’ve been working on increasing my miles again as I’ve got races coming up and most importantly, my first marathon in October. As I’ve been increasing my miles I’ve been thinking more about goal pace and what goes into it. I’ve had trouble finding motivation on some days and then other days when I am actually running, I am still having trouble getting into it so it...

#RhodeScholar Michelle feels a pain in the foot
After running 14 miles this past Sunday, and then spending all afternoon walking around at the air show, I felt a slight ache in the arch of my right foot. I figured it was just due to a whole lot of time spent on my feet, and didn’t think much of it.

#RhodeScholar Mallory cycles the rhodes!
150 miles in two days. We had amazing weather for the bike ride. The first day was almost 85 miles and the second day was just over 65 miles. We started in Middletown, Rhode Island and rode to Norton, Massachusetts via Warwick and Providence, then back the next day via Bristol. (I know that means nothing to you unless you’re from the area.) We crossed three pretty impressive bridges...

#RhodeScholar Brittany remembers why she loves...
Today it’s really that simple. Sometimes I forget how much I love running. When you have a training schedule or are coming off of an injury, it can seem a little daunting to get out there. There are days when you feel like crap, wonder why you do it and just want to hop on a spin bike or lay out your yoga mat for your workout. Then there’s the past couple days.

#RhodeScholar Mallory tries a morning run!
We finally did it. We got up this morning before work and ran. 4 miles. Mile 1 sucked. Mile 2 sucked a little less. Mile 3 was good. Mile 4 was great. We did a loop near my apartment. It’s so wonderful walking out the front door to go for a run. The weather was pretty good. 55* and overcast. It was pretty humid but doable. I felt pretty tired for most of the day but I am guessing...

#RhodeScholar Mallory enjoys 5 and 7
Just got home from a 5 mile run on the treadmill. It has been unseasonably cold here in Rhode Island. It was 57* and misty when I got home from work. I thought about running outside but decided that I was already cold so I didn’t want to. After my run, I stood in the stand up tanner for 7 minutes. Felt so good!

#RhodeScholar Michelle recovers strong
Very happy to report that after last Tuesday’s freakish allergic reaction, I went and ran 3 more times that week without incident (but also not without my epi-pen and phone). The first time I went out, I took it easy and ran nice and slow. The second time, I ran the first mile slow, the middle 2 miles faster, and the final mile slow.

#RhodeScholar Brittany goes back to basics
I don’t know what the weather is like where you are, but here in Boston is it cold, rainy and overall not in any way offering motivation to get out of bed in the morning. It has been like this for the past 3 days and it did not help me do anything of any note this weekend. Other than napping. I took 3 naps on Saturday. I wish that was an exaggeration. I put in a load of laundry, took a nap. Paid...
